With the kind financial support of VEBIK e.V., I was able to become a member of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) and successfully complete their one-year course, „Introduction to Environmental Epidemiology,“ which concluded on November 19, 2024.
The comprehensive course provided me with strong foundational knowledge in our field. I gained practical skills in specialized study designs like time-series and case-crossover studies, and learned key methods for minimizing research error. The training also covered modern exposure assessment techniques, including the use of GIS and satellite data.
In addition to the formal course, my ISEE membership has allowed me to attend supplementary webinars on current topics, such as mental health in research and new evidence on climate change health effects. My membership also grants me access to the annual ISEE conference, such as the upcoming one in Munich, and provides discounts on other professional associations.
It was a great opportunity for my professional development. Thank you very much for making this possible.
