Kurzbericht zur Teilnahme an der 6. RUHR School of Modern Epidemiology

Unser Verein konnte Frau Hiba Oqba für die Teilnahme an der Weiterbildung zu “Introduction to Cancer Epidemiology” 02.-05.07.2024 an der Uni Essen (Prof. A. Stang) finanziell unterstützen.

Hier ihr Bericht: „Cancer epidemiology is an important field in understanding the disease patterns and risk factors, and this course has been focused on the following points:
(1) Fundamentals of cancer.
(2) Classification of neoplasms.
(3) Occurrence measures of cancer.
(4) Introduction to cancer registration.
(5) Principles of cancer screening.

In addition, this course has discussed a lot of examples of several articles related to cancer epidemiology studies such as twins’ and migration studies.
Although I have medical background from my Bachelor study, this course has enhanced my understanding of cancer epidemiology by keeping me up-to-date with most relevant information in this field […]

Overall, I have learned a lot from this course and I recommend it to other students who are interested in this field.“
